My lead magnet sucked.

My lead magnet sucks ass.

I stopped working.

I made the biggest mistake.
I stopped listening to my audience.

There's one rule in marketing.

And I broke it.

Ask your audience what they want.
Give it to them.

So simple, and yet I messed up.

I built a lead magnet around what I thought people needed.

So one day, I was fed up.

I sent out a survey with one question:

You brothers and sisters, what content do you like from me?

The replies were overwhelming.

We like to know how to launch digital products. They said.

And that's what I gave them.

Why people fuck up lead magnets

You're solving the wrong problem.

The fix is stupidly simple.

Ask questions.

Not through polls.
Not through surveys.
Through real conversations.

Pick up the phone and start dialling.
(I love the Wolf of Wall Street.)

Here's the 3-step process that changed everything for me:

Send one email to your list with the subject line:

"Quick question about [your topic]."

Ask only two things: "What's your biggest struggle with [your topic] right now?

Then respond to all the replies.

Look for patterns.

The same problems mentioned by 25+ people?

That's your next lead magnet.

Stop guessing what people want.

Start asking what they're struggling with.

And all you need to do is give it to them.

Now over to you.

How’s your lead magnet working for you?

Hit reply and let me know.

P.S. If you need help with your launch, please feel free to reach out in the replies.

As you know, we're building Sucana. It's a platform for ad agencies. Helps them build, publish, analyse, and scale their ad campaigns. But during the building process... We lost the plot of what we were actually building. There was confusion everywhere. We put a deadline for ourselves. September 14th. Victor is launching a massive project for a big real estate company.Sucana is going to do all the heavy lifting. But yesterday we realised we're far from ready. So we jumped on a 3-hour call. It...

My dog Bumi was chewing on a towel. Weird habit, but whatever. While watching her, I opened my laptop to write this email. That's when it hit me. Six months ago, I was screaming:"AI will never replace human creativity!" I was convinced robots would ruin everything. That’s what you get when you watch too many Terminator movies. It started with one simple experiment.I asked ChatGPT to brainstorm email subject lines. The results were insane. So I tried another experiment. Before I knew it, AI...

Last week I did something that felt like cheating. I took everything I know about launching digital products.20 years of trial, error, and $10M in sales - and trained a custom AI. Here's the weird thing... I can launch anything for my clients. 6-figure campaigns, sold-out cohorts, you name it, I’ve done it. But when it comes to launching my own stuff? I freeze up like an idiot. You know the feeling, right? You're brilliant at solving other people's problems. But when it's YOUR business, this...
